12 Complicated Rules for Daily Life

I submit these 12 Complicated Rules for Living to you in case you want to adopt them in your own life... (and feedback is welcome)

⚖️I have 12 slightly ...complicated life rules that I live by. These rules often create very interesting situations in my daily life, but they are totally and completely mandatory ...according to me.

💼I submit these 12 Complicated Rules for Living to you in case you want to adopt them in your own life... (and feedback is welcome).

🍋🍋🧒🏾🧒🏿1. Stop any journey or whatever it is you are doing immediately to buy something from a child's lemonade stand [or any other child-run small business]. Seriously, do it.

💌💌💌2. If you think something positive or kind about someone, you have to tell them right away. No exceptions.

🐿️🐈🐩3. Always greet any small animal you encounter, and greet them at some length if you can. Encountering an animal in the world is a special occasion that must be acknowledged and celebrated.

👹👹👹4. Bullies must be confronted. Bullies become bigger, more emboldened and destructive if left unchecked. You have to do whatever you can to stop them. Do this early and often.

💪💪💪5. When you see someone being brave, ask them how you can help. Don't delay. Bravery is lonely. But brave people are the literal best of us. They hold up the world and help us progress.

⁉️⁉️⁉️6. If someone critizes you for asking too many questions*, ask more questions. Also, never trust ANYONE who discourages or bristles at being questioned.

*Note: make sure you are asking good-faith questions that you actually want the answers to, otherwise you are just a sealion.

🗣️🗣️7. Make sure that threats, insults and disminishment strengthen your resolve rather than weaken it. “The flak only gets heavy when you’re over the target.” ~Anonymous

🚥🚥🚥8. When someone tells you that you can't do something, make it your mission to prove them wrong.

💡💡💡9. Don't let lies go uncontested. The truth is important. Truth exists. Protect it. Truth is all we have.

😊😊😊10. Start with respect for everyone you meet. Respect should always be your default posture, unless the person is a bully (see above).

💥💥💥11. Avoid people who are casually cruel and those who sneer. People like this are capable of terrible things when they are placed under pressure. Trust me.

✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼12. Obstinacy is a superpower. Relentlessness is the only way to make change. Never, ever, ever, ever give up.
